Training Schedule: Recovery Musts And IntegrityTraining Schedule: Recovery Musts And Integrity

This is week two of my trial training schedule. I've basically "put myself in school", training physically and building my acting education. I'd say this is the first time that I have created such an intense schedule that is so diverse. I view myself as an athelete, and I love, in a very big way, feeling very fit and physically capable. I love being able to lift heavy bags of groceries easily. I love lifting heavy weights at the gym, and feeling pumped. When I'm training, I love how my clothes fit, and I love how I look and feel.   I planned out the following schedule just over a week ago, and decided that I would give myself two weeks to test the schedule, and modify it into something that I can really commit to. Here's the schedule through the end of December (at that point, some of the classes will be changed, and others will be added):

Monday: AM - 2 hour Advanced Release dance class; PM - 90 mins advanced Bhakti Flow with Rusty Wells; Voice training lesson.

Tuesday: AM - 2 hour weight training workout; PM - Restorative Yoga with hot stones; Intermediate Hip Hop with Micaya

Wednesday: Recovery Day; AM - gentle yoga; PM - Acting workshop

Thursday: AM - 90 mins Bhakti Flow with Rusty Wells; PM - Intermediate Hip Hop with Micaya

Friday: AM - 2 hour weight training workout

Saturday: Recovery Day

Sunday:  AM - 90 mins Bhakti Flow with Rusty Wells; (possibly Ecstatic Dance afterward);  PM - 60 min Parkour class

Part of the testing of this schedule is trying out new classes, such as Parkour and Release, and seeing if they will work with the amount of recovery time that is needed, given the method of weight training that I'm following.  I'm only lifting twice per week, and right now I'm going for hypertrophy (muscle gain), so I do a total body workout, work each muscle group or targeted muscle for 1 set, 8-12 reps to failure. That kind of training requires ample recovery time. This week will show me if this schedule is actually possible for me to follow while getting enough recovery time in.

Aside from needing recovery time, I'm testing to see if this schedule is possible to follow, while allowing me the time to get other work done. So far, that time's been limited! But that's mainly because I've allowed myself to be ineffecient by not following through during times that I have alloted for specific work purposes.

I'm really enjoying this exploration into how to be in integrity with the commitments to myself. It basically comes down to doing what I say I'm going to do, and doing it when I say I'm going to do it.

Wishing you well in doing the same...XO, Miss Rosie
